TasteStick dispenses just 30mg of salt, or 1/160th of a teaspoon, per use, so you never have to worry about overindulging.

TasteStick uses hygienic salt storage, meaning its patent-pending mechanism that discharges the salt evenly keeps TasteStick closed, even during use, which protects salt from being contaminated or caking.

The only time TasteStick will be opened is to remove an empty cartridge and plug in a filled cartridge.

TasteStick comes packaged with salt obtained from protected and untouched areas of the Austrian Alps in an environmentally friendly way and three refillable cartridges. YOU CAN ALWAYS REFILL THE CARTRIDGES WITH THE FAVORITE FINE-GRAINED SALT OF YOUR CHOICE.

TasteStick’s ergonomic design allows for easy, intuitive use with one hand. TasteStick is made with BPA-free, food-safe plastic that is scratch and shock resistant and stainless steel.

When you take in too much sodium, your body retains excess fluids, causing bloating and discomfort. In more serious cases, excess fluid causes extreme blood pressure, which leads to an increased risk of stroke. Consuming excess salt has also been directly linked to cardiovascular disease and is one of the leading causes of heart attacks.

According to the WHO, an estimated 2.5 million deaths could be prevented each year if global salt consumption were reduced to the recommended level.

In addition, regular salt shakers and mills do not evenly distribute salt, they can become a breeding ground for bacteria, and there are no salt shakers that regulate the amount of salt distributed, in a sanitary manner, with even distribution.

How is it possible to get perfect Taste with less sodium intake? 

Well, sodium chloride interacts with taste receptors only when it is in solution. Salt with small grain size has increased solubility and will increase the sensation of saltiness for a given amount of salt.

It’s important to apply the fine-grained salt in a way that it will quickly interact with taste receptors in an ideal way: evenly across your food.

You can try this yourself at home with any fine-grained salt, but you will find it very hard to get just the right very small amount of salt and even distribution without TasteStick.

The funds from backers will be used only for Jabil’s manufacturing, materials, tooling, processing, assembly, quality control, packaging, and shipping. In addition, each TasteStick will be manually tested for function and quality before being shipped to you.

For many years, I read about our sodium intake being too high, and I wanted to do something about it. I’ve studied intensively on the way salt is perceived, and I found out that only a fraction of the salt I applied is needed for the perfect taste when very little amounts of fine-grained salt are applied evenly across the food.
