Popcord is made of precision cast zinc and a flexible rubber cord. Weighing in at approximately 12 grams, popcord measures 4 inches when extended, and 2.5 when closed.

Popcord comes with both micro USB and lightning connector, making it compatible with the majority of smartphones.
We are aware of the necessity of using original Apple MFi Lightning connectors to ensure compatibility and prevent malfunctioning. That's why we are going to use only original parts (OEM), and rely on certified suppliers for our production.

Everything started on a rainy afternoon when one of us looked at his phone to find out it was out of battery. Again!

We believe that your keyring tells a story while accompanying you everywhere. Obsessed by elegant design and functionality we thought to combine it with a smartphone charger. The result is an object you can always rely on and would love to carry with you.
We spent the first two months examining the use of our smartphones, trying to imagine a solution to their limited autonomy. We brainstormed in cafes, drew on paper, and talked to people to understand when they were running out of battery the most. Once we had decided on the main features, we started sketching and 3D modelling to obtain the exact solution we were looking for.
Once the design was clear in our minds we moved to rapid prototyping and testing with users.
Having received enthusiastic feedback, we engaged in a close collaboration with manufacturers to refine our model and find the most suitable materials and production techniques, selecting cast zinc for the body and a high-quality soft plastic for the cord.
We believe a cable is the best way to charge your phone.
External batteries need to be charged (using a cable), are bulky, and easily forgotten at home. Battery cases make phones clunky and hot. And they still need a cable to be charged. But cables are not perfect either. They were designed to stay in one place. That's why they're so easy to forget.

After thorough testing and a constant collaboration with manufacturers, our models have been approved for mass production. The supply of custom USB internal components has been organised adopting strict standards, while Lightning connectors are coming from the only Apple approved supplier.
We are now ready to launch popcord on kickstarter and count on your support to bring it to production.
All the manufacturers are lined up and ready to begin production and have helped us identify the key steps separating us from delivery:
