About this project

After more than a year and countless prototypes, at UNLIMITED we are excited to launch the first Plug & Play modular electric powertrain that will convert any skateboard into an ultra light and powerful electric vehicle in a few minutes. It’s simply a matter of attaching our motor and power pack to your skateboard, and you're ready to roll!

At only 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs), we set out to design the lightest powertrain on the market. We've designed hub motors with no drag so that the board coasts freely even when out of charge. You can use any board and trucks you want or already have, so our motors just bolt on with our Patent Pending coupling interface.

Did we say ANY board? There are unlimited possibilities to what you can create with our advanced powertrain, if you dream it, you can build it.

Installation is a breeze, just slide the mounting plate under your rear truck, attach thePowerPack and bolt in a motor as if it were a standard wheel. In less than 15 minutes you’ll be riding more than 1000 watts (per motor!) of pure flow.

The modular design allows for multiple configurations and flexibility to your riding needs.

We are offering a Limited Edition Kickstarter special set of complete boards made to our specs.

All completes come preassembled including:

• 81mm 79a bubblegum grip formula wheels
• 2 sets of motor liners/wheels in 79a
• Bushing/washer kit for tuning the boards turning feel and stability
• Special grip job with a coarse rear for better foothold 
• ABEC 7 bearings with built-in spacers

If you opt for a complete you'll be able to select what type of board you want via a simple survey sent at the end of the campaign.

The board comes pre tuned with three riding modes and can be fine tuned via our mobile app. 

• Progressive Brakes: eon recharges your board while slowing you down. We get an average of 10% range increase through the use of regenerative braking.
• Weather resistant: motor and electronics are weather proof so you can ride through puddles (riding in heavy rain or submerging not recommended)
• Carbon plate: composites are the strongest and lightest weight materials available today and that’s why it’s used in aerospace and motorsports racing. Our mounting plate is made from carbon fiber to keep the weight low and performance through the roof!
• #OFOC: we use the most advanced motors control algorithms/techniques for a smooth and stealthy ride. Optimum Field-Oriented Control and direct drive motors produce torque that feels natural and intuitive. 
• Nitro: your secret weapon, with each mode you get custom levels of additional power that’s active for a few seconds and will let you edge out in any race!

We’ve designed eon as the central part of a sustainable urban mobility platform. ThePowerPacks are designed as your personal energy system that can be used to power the board, other light electric vehicles and any USB device (you can charge your phone 10x times).

With the technological advancements of lithium ion batteries, we are able to pack incredible amounts of energy into a lightweight, robust and safe package. As battery technology is still on an upward learning curve, it will only get better with time and soon enough the whole world will be running on sustainably generated energy.

At UNLIMITED we are making headway into the design of eon for bicycles. You’ll be able to swap over your PowerPacks to our bike attachment and use it with our bike motor (hint hint: very light weight and drag free). As expected, installation is a breeze!

The Unlimited Engineering team is formed by Carlos Kübler, Juan Pablo Viera and Alejandro Veloz, a group of engineers passionate about riding, racing, and extreme sports.

WARRANTY All powertrains come with a six (6) month warranty against manufacturing defects

Laws and regulations pertaining electric longboards or electric skateboards vary by country, state, county, and municipality. You are responsible in making sure that it is legal to ride in your area, so please make sure you investigate your local regulations.

Skateboarding, and especially on electric powered boards, is an inherently dangerous sport and safety equipment should be used at all times, especially a helmet. Don’t be too cool for safety equipment and risk your life. Even the pros use a helmet and pads. Always watch out for cars while riding on surface roads open to traffic and follow all local rules. Always skate within your abilities and use common sense while riding.

Your board can become unresponsive and loose power and brakes at any moment due to many factors like: dead remote battery, unintentional release of the throttle, radio interference, dropping the remote control, regenerative overcharging of a full battery, or other. This will turn the board into an unpowered skate without brakes, so learn how to slow down by sliding and only ride your board at speeds that where you would be able to stop without power or brakes.
