Mexxenger - high tech, modular messenger bag

About this project

City life often requires an array of on-the-go equipment - from phone, to laptop, to lunch, to gym gear. It’s not uncommon for commuters and urbanites to attempt to fit an entire day into one bag. PAIX has combined design and functionality to create an amazingly high tech, highly versatile, and sleekly designed messenger bag to solve this problem. Mexxenger has all the essential features needed to get even the busiest urban professional through the day - and then some.

The Mood Torch is a flashlight that can be used to display your mood via a colour display, using the PAIX app.

 The Mood Torch can be mounted to a metal coil tube to create a personal desk lamp. It’s also a programmable light-based alarm clock, that wakes you up via light display.

 Life Camera shoot both video and photograph.

 The Smart Display easily attaches to the bag with a magnet. It can be used as a customizable LED display that lets you create your own Emoji to flash to the world, as a bike light and turn indicator for cyclists, and as a security notification, alerting you when your bag wanders more than three metres away from your smartphone.

Mexxenger has a dedicated wireless charging pouch to give your phone juice on the go. The charging pad supports Qi enabled smartphones, and will support the latest iPhone. USB charging is also available. 

A free-spinning fidlock magnetic latch allows quick, directionless, and strong locking action.

A patented strap goes on either shoulder, offering quick and painless adjustment, and multiple ways to wear the Mexxenger.

Three-way zippers let you open your pouch from the top or from the sides.The Mexxenger has a “Flat-Open” design that allows quick organization, and easy access to your belongings.

  

Mexxenger has versatile inner-padding that is interchangeable.

The camera inner-padding is a padded camera insert protects equipment and lenses for photographers or camera lovers.

The waterproof padding is perfect for outdoor use or for separating sweaty gym clothes, swim wear, or damp clothes from the rest of your bag. The lining can also be filled with ice, making a perfect mobile cooler for drinks or food.

Mexxenger is a green product, designed using recycled PET and repurposed rubber tube to create a durable product that keeps mother earth in mind.

A metal buckle boasts a hidden feature - it’s equipped with a bottle opener.

PAIX Design team was formed in 2015 by a group of talented and enthusiastic young professionals. We aim to integrate technology into everyday life, as we strongly believe that merging design and technology has the potential to make our lives better. In 2016 we launched our first successful Kickstarter project. Our mission is to combine all the benefits and conveniences of technology with items we use every day - like our bags. It can be a challenge to choreograph hardware, software, and design to create a beautiful dance - but we refuse to give up. The opportunities and possibilities are too exciting.
